My name is Natasha Huneault, and my career in accounting began in 2003 when I took on the role of Accounts Payable Clerk at a hotel. It was there that I discovered my natural aptitude for time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills—qualities that I soon realized were well-suited to the accounting profession. Motivated to advance in the field, I pursued formal education in accounting and earned my Professional Accounting diploma with honours in 2013.

Over the course of my career, I gained extensive experience in various accounting roles, including seven years at the hotel and fifteen years at a not-for-profit organization. This diverse background laid the foundation for starting my own part-time bookkeeping practice. A conversation with a lawyer friend highlighted how my skills could be particularly beneficial in the legal industry, prompting me to specialize in bookkeeping for law firms. I dedicated myself to understanding the specific regulations surrounding financial record-keeping in this sector and sought out the most effective tools for maintaining compliance. Recognizing that many attorneys also had involvement in real estate, I proactively expanded my knowledge to understand the financial requirements of that field as well.

I am now an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Xero Certified Advisor, a LeanLaw Accounting Pro, and a MyCase Referral Partner. In 2022, I furthered my expertise by obtaining my Bookkeeping Certification from the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB).

As my business continues to grow, I remain dedicated to continuous learning and to providing ongoing support to my clients.

WHY IS HIRING A KNOWLEDGEABLE BOOKKEEPER IMPORTANT?

A bookkeeper ensures that all transactions are recorded correctly and helps you maintain accurate financial records.

Financial District

TRUST BANK ACCOUNTS

A bookkeeper who understands the Law Society’s & Bar Association's regulations will stay on top of your Trust Account. If you are an attorney using a Trust Bank Account, you know that these funds do not belong to you and that you must account for every penny. We will keep your Trust Account reconciled monthly and provide you with all the necessary documentation, ensuring you stay compliant, and are always audit-ready.

Law Consultation

ADVANCE CLIENT COSTS

Some law firms will have Advance Client Costs. These are fees that the law firm pays on behalf of a client and will recuperate in the future. We will review and reconcile your Advance Client Costs account monthly. This will ensure that you do not forget to invoice your clients for these expenses and will reduce future write-offs.

Accountant

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Also important is keeping your Accounts Receivable up to date. That means ensuring your invoices are issued promptly and that someone follows up on them regularly for collections. We will stay on top of your Receivables; helping you achieve a quicker turnaround, helping your cash flow, and leaving you with less to write-off at the end of the year.

Stacks of Coins

CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT

We perform detailed monthly bank reconciliations and proactively monitor your account balances, expenses, and invoices—so you always have a clear picture of your finances. This helps you spot trends early, avoid surprises, and stay ready for major expenses like renovations, property taxes, or new investments.
