ALL ABOUT US
NJMH Bookkeeping Services provides remote bookkeeping services using Quickbooks Online and Wave along with further tech stack including LeanLaw, MyCase, Confido Legal, Encyro, and Hubdoc.
My name is Natasha Huneault and I chose accounting as my profession after I started working as an Accounts Payable Clerk for a hotel in 2003. I noticed that my time management skills paired with my attention to detail, and my organizational habits, were well suited for the field. To move forward in the industry, I decided to pursue an education in accounting and completed my Professional Accounting diploma with honours in 2013. After covering many accounting roles in my 7 years at the hotel, and then my 12 years at a not-for-profit organization, I decided it was time to start my part-time bookkeeping practice. Just like my skills were well suited for a career in accounting, a friend who is a lawyer, suggested that those same skills were important for a bookkeeper in the Legal industry. This set my new focus on learning about the regulations regarding financial record-keeping and the tools that would work best while staying compliant. I am now an Advanced Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor, a LeanLaw Accounting Pro, and a MyCase Referral Partner. In 2022, I obtained my Bookkeeping Certification through the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB). I am continuously learning as I work on growing my business and my clients’ businesses along the way. I am currently working on incorporating consulting and advisory services in my business model.
WHY IS HIRING A KNOWLEDGEABLE BOOKKEEPER IMPORTANT?
A bookkeeper ensures that all transactions are recorded correctly and helps you maintain accurate financial records.
TRUST BANK ACCOUNTS
A bookkeeper who understands the Law Society’s & Bar Association's regulations will stay on top of your Trust Account. If you are an attorney using a Trust Bank Account, you know that these funds do not belong to you and that you must account for every penny. We will keep your Trust Account reconciled monthly and provide you with all the necessary documentation, ensuring you stay compliant, and are always audit-ready.
ADVANCE CLIENT COSTS
Some law firms will have Advance Client Costs. These are fees that the law firm pays on behalf of a client and will recuperate in the future. We will review and reconcile your Advance Client Costs account monthly. This will ensure that you do not forget to invoice your clients for these expenses and will reduce future write-offs.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
Also important is keeping your Accounts Receivable up to date. That means ensuring your invoices are issued promptly and that someone follows up on them regularly for collections. We will stay on top of your Receivables; helping you achieve a quicker turnaround, helping your cash flow, and leaving you with less to write-off at the end of the year.
PRICES
Potential clients are provided with a FREE consultation and diagnostic. In the consultation, we will go over your business needs. The diagnostic will provide us with an overview of your current bookkeeping situation, which will be the final piece in ensuring we provide you with a proper quote.
